Yesterday my quilting friend Sheila and I had one of our regular get togethers, I made morning tea (date and cardamom scones and coffee) which we both enjoyed, we had a bit of a chat and looked at Sheila's Flower Garden quilt (click on the link for photos) which she is quilting in readiness for showing at Festival of Quilts 2012  which is held at the same time as the Adelaide Craft and Quilt Fair.

We then decided that we would make a quick trip out to The Sewing Sanctuary at Aldinga, it was a nice day for a drive and it didn't take us too long to get there.  We must have spent nearly a couple of hours there chatting to Karen and Jeff and some of the other customers.  We both made small purchases, I bought some black and white (or white and black) fat quarters, the striped fabric is The Union Forever which I may use in a Grandmother's Choice block, and the two rolls of fabric are Cinnamon Rolls which will be for a Block of the Month available from The Sewing Sanctuary.

  1. More projects in the pipeline Pip?
Sounds like a nice quilty / foody get together. That Union Fever will be perfect for the G's Choice.
Sheila must be forgoing sleep...what a pace she is sewing her beautiful Flower Garden.

  2. love Sheilas blocks Pip. When are you coming over. Can't believe you're still there. Is it this Monday - 1st Oct.?

  3. Sheila's quilt is spectacular! Thanks for sharing in here on your blog! Great fabric finds too! I'm axious to see what your next project will be.

  4. Sheila's flower quilt is amazing... it's going to be a stunner at any quilt show!

Glad you have fun yesterday... methinks a quilt shop run would be a good thing this weekend!
