A bag made for Alice

My sister Jenny made this bag as a birthday present for our niece Alice based on a pattern in How to Knit  (Usborne Art Ideas) (see here) using yarn sourced (purloined) from our mother’s vast (accumulated over many years) cache of yarn.

The outside was knitted with two strands of pink boucle yarn and one strand of unidentifiable pink yarn (not dissimilar to overlocking thread). The fancy edge was knitted with some leftover eyelash yarn that Jenny thought would go with the pink yarn.

The lining was knitted with one strand of pink cotton yarn, 4 strands of purple lurex and one strand of the above mentioned unidentifiable pink yarn.

Jenny hopes that Alice liked her birthday present.

  1. Oh how nice ~ I'm sure she will love it. Looks great!

  2. What a BEAUTIFUL knit bag!
I bet she loved this gift!
