Purple

I found that I had quite a few purple fabrics so with this block it was a matter of editing the fabrics to get a mix that was pleasing to my eye and I think I achieved that.  The sparks of orange, red and apricot seem to add to it, looking at the photo I can see there are quite a few Kaffe's in there :)

This song Purple Rain sung by Etta James seems just right for this post.

  1. Great Song for the colour and title of the quilt! Have you read The Colour Purple? Amazing how our stashes can be top heavy in one part of the spectrum!
I am loving your neutrals. Fabulous selection.

I never heard Etta's version of this song before - it's wonderful. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Love the song, must admit to being a Prince fan though... and this is my favourite block so far. Though blue is my favourite colour, is there a blue one coming up?

  5. Love your purple block and also your green one. How many blocks do you need for this quilt? I'm still waiting for the postman to deliver the book you pointed out.
    Have a great weekend.

  6. Love, love, love! That's a really interesting block and combo of fabrics, even better because it has Kaffe fabrics in it. Love Etta James also.

  7. I'm very much enjoying watching this quilt be built. Your collection of back on whites is very impressive even though it is intended to be the background.
