I couldn’t help myself

I really wanted to get an idea of what my quilt would look like so I made rows L and M. Not without problems I might add.  It is crucial with this quilt to make sure that the finished block and sashing measure correctly (4 and 1/2 inches and 1/2 an inch respectively) so that the triangle borders will fit.

They still have to be joined together but I think the quilt is going to look good. I think I’m going to have to find a better way of taking photos of the rows, I had to stand on a chair for this one, any ideas out there?

  1. Wow! It's going to look gorgeous! :) Nice to see a couple of rows together. Can you hang some batting/wadding on the wall and stick it to it?? Might be easier to do standing up pictures rather than chair ones!

  2. Looking great. Getting them up on a wall might make it easier. A flannel tablecloth thumb tacked to the wall is what I use. It must be exciting to start seeing it all come together.

  3. These two look great! It's going to be just beautiful. I have all my rows joined, and love to have it out on a bed just to look at.

The two rows of light and dark blue look great and like the others I have a feeling that is going to be a fabulous quilt when its finished.

  8. Oh boy... how exciting ! It is just wonderful. This is a tried and true method of quilt photography, but when it gets really big, you will have to stand on a ladder instead of a chair ! Caution is advised...

  9. Your fabrics look amazing together, Pip.

I think I'm almost as anxious as you to see your blue and white baby complete. One of these days I'll get back to my jane {I hope}.
